IMAGO’S AWARD CABINET IS ON THE VERGE OF BURSTING AFTER TWO WINS ON ONE NIGHT

After taking home a whole host of awards at the VenueVerdict Standard Awards, Hotel Excellence Awards and M&IT Awards earlier this year, imago has taken on its national competitors to bring home a gold in the Access for All category at the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2010, held on Friday 23rd April in Brighton. As if that wasn’t enough it also went on to take home the top prize in the Sales and Marketing Category at the Leicestershire Business Awards 2010.

Now in their 21st year, the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence recognise businesses that have excelled in providing a first class experience for visitors. imago won gold in the Access for All category in the East Midlands round of the regional awards last October, making them eligible for the national finals. The Leicestershire Business Awards is an annual celebration, recognising the most successful companies within the county.

Kay England, Chief Executive of imago at Burleigh Court and Holywell Park, said: “The Enjoy England Awards for Excellence are the highest accolade in English tourism. Known as the Oscars of the industry, they celebrate the very best in terms of quality and standards and we are delighted to have been recognised alongside the best in Britain. Similarly, having a profile in our county and being amongst some of the highest flying companies in the East Midlands made winning at the Leicestershire Business Awards a real honour

“imago prides itself on being a top-class destination for all of its customers, across all of our venues, and this Enjoy England Award is testament to the hard work of our whole team. The Access for All category recognises venues with a clear commitment in providing access for all visitors and offering an excellent level of service and facilities to visitors with varying access requirements. It is an honour to be acknowledged as one of the industry’s shining examples.”

Leicester Shire Promotions supported the applications from imago for the regional awards. Martin Peters, Chief Executive of Leicester Shire Promotions, added: “We are delighted for imago and its success in the national tourism awards. This is not only recognition from their industry peers of their achievements but also highlights the high quality standards adopted by the Leicester and Leicestershire tourism industry, placing the destination on a strong platform to compete in the UK short break visitor market.”

These latest awards follow on the back of a bout of other successes for the company. Recently, imago’s first-class international conference centre imago at Burleigh Court picked up the Gold award for Best UK Conference Centre and Silver for Best Conference and Banqueting Staff at the Meetings & Incentive Travel (M&IT) Awards. In addition, imago’s versatile day conference centre imago at Holywell Park recently picked up ‘Gold’ for customer service for meetings and events in the VenueVerdict Standard awards; whilst imago at Burleigh Court also picked up Gold for ‘Excellent Social Responsibility’ in the Hotel Excellence Awards 2010.
