DERBY CONFERENCE CENTRE’S NEW STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH LEADING AV COMPANY SET TO PAY DIVIDENDS

The Derby Conference Centre (DCC) has entered into a 12-month agreement with market-leading audio visual (AV) company Sounds Commercial (SC).

The newly-agreed partners are looking to forge a business relationship that will provide DCC clients with a service to surpass all other AV companies.

Their first exhibition together will be Event UK 09, at the NEC in Birmingham on September 22-23, where DCC will be among 300 exhibitors.

SC will be building a custom-designed printed backdrop that will highlight all the unique selling points of DCC.

Agreement was reached in May and DCC will be working with the Hallam Technic division of Sounds Commercial, based in Sheffield.

Kieran Murphy, operations manager for SC, said the two firms were confident of extending the 12-month agreement and 'looking to forge a partnership well into the future'.

He added: "The Sounds Commercial Group is delighted to have been awarded the accolade of Preferred Audio Visual Supplier to the Derby Conference Centre.

"We will utilise our skills and experience that 20 years of award-winning service within the industry has gained us to ensure we meet the best possible audio visual requirements."

DCC, a graceful Grade II listed Art Deco building, offers 26 flexible rooms, for everything from conferences and training events to Christmas parties and weddings.

It is these unrivalled facilities that SC is been keen to promote.

Kieran said: "DCC will be able to offer their clients a fantastic AV solution, whether it is the hire of a PA system or the production of a large bespoke live event.

"SC will work hand-in-hand with the team at DCC to ensure that the client's expectations are not just met - but exceeded."

The companies are looking forward to developing expert synergy, with both keen to provide the optimum service possible.

Over the past 20 years SC has helped event organisers and venue finders produce prestigious conferences and live events, both in the UK and on a global scale.

The firm also has sites in Swindon, Cardiff and Sheffield and prides itself on being a single point of contact, eliminating the pressure and cost involved in dealing with multiple suppliers.

Its in-house studio boasts state-of-the-art broadcast quality editing and design facilities.

SC's networks facility enables the company to build conference stage sets, from initial design through to completion, at unrivalled prices.

The SC printworks can provide everything from branding and exhibition stand design to delegated packs and name badges, and its hire department offers an unparalleled 24hr call-out service.

DCC Managing Director Mike Ebbitt said: "We could not have chosen a better AV partner to drive our business forward and provide the very best service for the various and diverse events we cater for.

"Derby Conference Centre always strives to be the best and in reaching agreement with Sounds Commercial we know we have got the best possible AV service.

"We can rest assured that all of our needs, and the needs of our clients, will be met to the highest standards of specification.”

Centrally located in Derby, DCC is just eight miles from the M1 and M42, has free parking for more than 200 vehicles, and is close to the rail network and East Midlands Airport.

50, AA three-star bedrooms and a licensed bar and restaurant, make it an excellent choice for companies looking to stage conferences or training courses over several days, and for private events and weddings, where guests want to stay overnight.
